Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo presents an exceptional opportunity to introduce your children to the wonders of nature.
If you are a parent, the Zoo is the place to really enjoy some quiet moments with your family and make some meaningful memories. And if you are a homeschool family, the Zoo is a wonderful place to teach children about natural history and conservation. How you appreciate wildlife and wild places will inspire your children to do the same. If you are a teacher, the Zoo is a great place to bring the class, from kindergarten to graduate level; all students enjoy a trip to the Zoo. Use this website to plan your trip, learn how to save money by pre-booking and by printing out scavenger hunts to enhance your visit. Zoomobiles, Animal Encounters & Professor Beardsley’s Workshops are our most popular school programs, but we offer much more. The Zoo can provide many different teaching opportunities from art and creative writing, to cultural studies and math, and of course, zoology, botany, ecology and all of the life sciences can be studied here.
